There are literally thousands of options for places to stay whilst you’re in Orlando, depending on your needs. Standards are generally high, wherever you stay throughout Florida, however, as always, do as much homework as you can before you go. There maybe ideas in our blog that will help you too.

Remember that July and August are extremely busy periods with lots of people through, so lots of traffic is more ‘wear and tear’ so to speak, with limited time to maintain, wherever you stay.

Your choice of accommodation is often determined on which area you want. For instance, If you want to be based around Universal or Sea World say, and definitely don’t want to hire a car, then you’re best not having a villa. Villas for rental are only zoned in particular areas, which is generally around a half hour drive (with easy access) to these parks. A hotel or on-site accommodation may be preferable.

Hotels

If cost is a consideration, then maybe think of a hotel near to the parks – they are plentiful. There are generally buses and shuttles that operate to the parks, depending on where you stay. However, depending when you go, you’re gonna have to share any public areas with many other families, with little or no privacy and quiet time. Hotels are ‘geared up’ for families and most offer good facilities on site.

On-Site Accommodation

If the parks are your first priority, then you may want to stay on-site. Prices vary so much for this and of course it gets extremely busy in the restaurants, pools and visitor areas. However, you are on location, no driving required and you can get into the parks early. As ‘a rule’, this will be a more costly option but again, shop around.

Villa or House

If you’ve a family or there’s a few of you and you want to hire a car then a villa is a fantastic option. The main factor for us is that when you’ve been out in the day, you come back to you ‘own home’ and chill. Check out our villa details below.

There’s generally a short drive to the Disney Parks from most of the villas and a bit longer to Universal, Sea World etc, depending where you choose. You can cook yourself or eat out with the villa option, not tied to any meal plans.  Also, family and friends are together privately and you can rest, knowing where the kids are.
