Steakhouses in the Orlando Area – Our Favourite’s

We’ve taken 5 steakhouses in the Orlando area that we tend to choose to eat at. This depends where we are and what we’ve been doing as to the location we’d choose. The consistency at all 5 is ‘spot on’ which is a big factor. Steakhouses in the Orlando area are not a cheap outing for a family meal so we like to have some assurance that it’s going to be good. The following are not in any particular order, it just depends where we are and how we feel as they all have different good points for us.

I always go for a ribeye as I think it’s the tastiest cut with the fat marbling through, but the family all like different. All 5 of these steakhouses in the Orlando area have a great choice so you shouldn’t be disappointed. Obviously these are only our preferences and any restaurant can have an ‘off night’ for whatever reason.

A good starting point is Outback Steakhouse.

We eat at the Formosa Gardens location, by the 192 when we are at the house, as it’s only around a 10 minutes drive. The steak here is always good and there’s lots of choice for different cuts. Toppings and accompaniments are also plentiful and the Bloomin’ Onion as a starter is a ‘show stopper’. There’s a great choice of starters, potatoes, sides, soups, salads and other main meals (chicken, ribs, shrimp etc). A good menu that should suit everyone and an average price for a steak house. We’re always served in good time and the restaurant is pleasant. Handy when you need to go to Wallmart for something in the evening too, just a little further along the 192!

Another of our choices would be Chili’s

This is a popular one for us as it’s only 2 minutes from the house at Champions Gate, but it’s a really busy restaurant. Sometimes you may have to wait, but we love the atmosphere in the restaurant. You can watch different TV channels and Happy Hour 2-for-1 drinks are always appreciated. My choice here is the classic ribeye with ‘loaded mash’ (cheese & bacon topping) and salad. You may fancy a Tex-Mex option as there’s plenty on the menu. Obviously these restaurants are child-friendly too and this one’s handy if we don’t want to be far from home after a long day, when we’re all tired.

Now, our favourite steakhouse in the Orlando area, if we decide that we want to go for a drive, is the Texas Cattle Company Steakhouse (picture above).  If you love steak, you won’t be disappointed. It’s around a half hour drive to Lakeland from the house, but the food is delicious. They have a large fridge with an impressive display of all the cuts of beef, including Wagyu. The steaks are flame grilled over a natural wood burning fire and it gives you a great eating experience. Lots of choice on the menu but a little more expensive than the last 2 restaurants, but worth it in our opinion.

The next on the list is Charley’s Steakhouse near Celebration on the 192.

This is one of the top steakhouses in the Orlando area for sure. If money is no object, or you want a special celebration meal then this restaurant is tops. I LOVE the Wagyu here, but at $75, it’s pricey. However, the taste is nothing short of amazing and there are other cheaper items on the menu too. This a unique waiter served restaurant as they come round before you choose and show you the cuts on a tray.

You feel a little underdressed in shorts an T-shirt, however they don’t mind. The lobster mac is my choice of side with the Wagyu, but be warned that the portions are massive. A word of warning, don’t order starters and lots of sides. I’m sure there’s some connection with the Texas Cattle Company in Lakeland as the menu, grilling, website etc is similar. The quality is consistently amazing too. If you get chance, go and experience Charley’s, it’s one of the nicest restaurants I’ve eaten at anywhere.

And the last (but not least!) choice of steakhouses in the Orlando area is …

Longhorn Steakhouse, the best value for money. There’s one around 15 minutes drive from the house on the 192 and it’s ideal for an evening meal if you’ve been to somewhere like Animal Kingdom. We really enjoy this restaurant with its fantastic tasting steaks (ask for it flame grilled).  Prices are average and value for money. This is my recommendation to anyone who was after a really good steakhouse but didn’t want to spend a fortune.

A good choice of menu and the restaurant is decorated with a really authentic American cowboy theme. There’s another further along the 192 also, towards Kissimmee. There’s obviously plenty more good steakhouses in the Orlando Area and not restricted to our choices, however these are our recommendations, tried and tested by us.
